Pedals in the Metal: The Tissot T-Race Cycling
We’re on the cusp of summer and that’s welcome news for cyclists, whether they’re getting on a bike for their daily commute, to burn calories in an exercise regime, or even to compete in a race. Swiss watch brand Tissot ? Official Timekeeper to the Tour de France ? has just brought out a watch with all types of bicycle enthusiasts in mind: the Tissot T-Race Cycling, this week’s Watch to Watch.
Tissot T-Race Cycling T111 – front-back
The Tissot T-Race Cycling has been designed with both ergonomics and bicycle-inspired details in mind, in the same manner as 2015’s T-Race MotoGP series incorporated elements of motorbikes. These details include the fork-frame lugs, the tachymeter-style bezel echoing the look of a bicycle wheel, the brake-lever-type chronograph pushers, the clustered-sprocket cassette motif on the solid caseback, and the chain-like indented pattern on the inside of the rubber strap. The watch has a 44.5-mm stainless steel case with a bezel made of aluminum, and several color options available, including the orange- and blue-highlighted models pictured above, as well as the bicolor gray-and-black version with carbon composite and PVD coating shown below. Two large luminous hands, along with a color-coordinated, “T”-tipped chronograph seconds hand, sweep across the tricompax gray dial, with counters at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock and a date window at 4:00.
