Piaget debuts three new Polo S models
A year on from its New York re-launch of its 1979 Polo, Piaget has released three new models
Piaget has just launched three new Polo S models, following on from the model’s re-launch last year.
The brand revisited Yves Piaget?s 1980s-defining Polo S design in July 2016, tapping the trend for steel sports watches that are a valuable proposition in terms of both price and design heft.
The manufacture has now announced three new colours across two models, the three-hander and the Polo S Chronograph too.
Last year the 42mm chronograph came with either a royal blue dial and a silver dial. Now the heavy slate grey hue that featured on the Polo S has been applied to the chronograph, and it works well – both sub-dials are ringed with silver, just enough to stand out against the textured dial. The bigger story, however, is the black dial, which has been applied to both the straightforward Polo S and the chronograph.
The signature half-cushion, half-round bezels are also inky black (following ADLC treatment) – these would easily pass muster at a black tie event as well as wearing nicely as an everyday watch.
A very dapper Ryan Reynolds returns to front the campaign, demonstrating the point in a bowtie and dinner jacket.
The tiniest hint of colour comes from the red-tipped seconds hand; the counterweight is finished with a skeleton P.
