Piaget has added a $28,500 Skeleton version to its Polo line of sports watches
In the crowded and ultra-competitive space of luxury sports watches, the Piaget Polo line has carved out a place for itself over the last four decades of its existence. The last major development for the collection came almost half a decade back when revamped with the addition of time-and-date and chronograph options. And now Piaget has introduced a skeletonized version of the timepiece that blends the line?s sporty looks with the open-worked style of the Emperador. Called the Piaget Polo Skeleton, the newest addition to the Polo line is dressier than the rest of the collection. The new Polo Skeleton features the familiar rounded case shape of the Polo line; however, the 42mm stainless steel case of the Piaget Polo Skeleton has a wafer-thin profile. The Polo Skeleton measures just 6.5mm thick. In comparison, the already thin Polo S measures 9.4mm. The slimmer case makes the Polo Skeleton sit much flatter on the wrist, adding to the wearing comfort. But the thinness has been achieved at the expense of water resistance, which is down to 30 meters from the previous Polo?s 100 meters rating.
The watch’s centerpiece is its new skeleton dial design, available in both graphite gray and a dynamic cobalt blue PVD. It is also detailed in several satin brushing and radial finishes, making it truly outstanding.
