Porsche Design has a new chronograph with – yes – an in-house movement
The Porsche Design Chronograph 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series has the new Werk 01.200 inside
Porsche Design has teamed up with Porsche (the relationship between the two hasn’t always been as straightforward as the name implies) to offer a new watch: the Chronograph 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series, which is also Porsche Design?s first watch with an in-house movement.
Just 500 pieces will be released, to correspond exactly with the 500 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series sports cars that are being manufactured by Porsche. Yep, the new flyback chronograph is exclusively available at Porsche Centres to future owners of the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series sports car, with both watch and car to be delivered simultaneously.
And, much like picking out features for a new car, there are customisable options for the new watch, too. The flyback chronograph has a 42mm titanium case, with black titanium carbide coating, and an eye-catching strip of colour right down the carbon dial. It?s actually a slick of Porsche lacquer paint, with a choice of six different colours.
So far we?ve only seen the metallic Golden Yellow iteration, but of the other available colours three are metallics – Carrara White, Agate Grey and Graphite Blue – as well as Black and Guards Red.
Whichever shade you opt for, the stitched seam of the black perforated calf-leather strap will match. The leather, by the way, is the same leather that Porsche uses on its seats.
