Roger Dubuis teams up with Lamborghini for the Excalibur Aventador S
Roger Dubuis furthers its connections with the motorsport world by partnering with Lamborghini on the Excalibur Aventador S
Swiss brand Roger Dubuis has launched the Excalibur Aventador S, a new 45mm model designed as part of a new partnership with Lamborghini.
This is not the first foray Roger Dubuis has made into motorsports. Earlier this year, the company worked with Formula 1 tyre manufacturer Pirelli on the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon and the Automatic Skeleton.
The new Excalibur Aventador S is certainly flamboyant; it seems Lamborghini?s Italian pizzazz gels nicely with Roger Dubuis? own eye-catching aesthetics.
It features a brand new movement inspired by the engine of the Aventador S. The Duotor calibre (or RD103SQ) is a variation on Roger Dubuis? innovative quadruple-balance wheel Quatuor calibre. It has two balance wheels tilted at 90°, mirroring the position of the cylinders in a car engine.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S in C-SMC carbon
There are two versions, one with ?Giallo Orion? yellow accents and the other in ?Arancio Argos? orange. The Arancio Argos also marks a world first: its case is made from C-SMC carbon, or carbon sheet moulding compound.
It?s a material that Lamborghini uses in its cars, but the Aventador S is the first time that C-SMC carbon has been used in a watch. It?s limited to a run of 8 pieces.
Meanwhile the Giallo Orion has a multi-layered carbon case, and 88 pieces will be released.
