Rolex Submariner Date 16610LV ‘Kermit’ 50th Anniversary
Let me introduce you to more vivid and hip Submariner’s brother – Rolex Submariner Date 16610LV ‘Kermit’.
It wouldn’t be much of a discussion that is worth having, if it wasn’t for this slight and very expensive difference in the look of the 16610LV ‘Kermit’, I am talking about the green bezel. Before I first tried the Kermit on my wrist, I was rather indifferent about this green feature of the Kermit, for me it was just another mass-produced Submariner.
It took me a while to get my hands on one of the original Submariners with LV in the model reference. When I finally got one, I spent a good hour on how freaking awesome this watch is. At the moment, my favourite Submariner in the whole Rolex game is ‘Hulk’ with a green ceramic bezel insert and lovely green sunburst dial – that watch is just a stunner (click here to read my review on it). I know it’s silly to look for uniqueness in widely produced wristwatch that Rolex is, however I do find Hulk and Kermit unique. In both cases – Hulk and Kermit, green changes everything. It adds the breath of freshness and positiveness that standard black Submariner simply lacks. However, this green bezel insert and phenomenal maxi dial, with bolder hour markers come at cost. Kermit is now becoming more and more sought-after and collectible amongst watch collectors.
