Seiko Teams Up with Rowing Blazers For a New Three Watch Collection
Rowing Blazers is an American lifestyle and clothing brand that is synonymous with rugby shirts, limited edition drops, and, of course, blazers. While they might not be a go-to resource for watch lovers, they are watch adjacent at the very least, and have long sold vintage watches through their website. For their first full fledged watch collaboration, they?ve worked with Seiko to create three new editions of the Seiko 5 Sports watch, a watch that was notable for an initial release back in 2019 that featured dozens of variants with an enormous aesthetic variety. If nothing else, these watches are a great canvas for collaborators to apply their own vision, and that?s exactly what Rowing Blazers has done here.Â
It?s tough to sum up the house style of Rowing Blazers, but it definitely captures traditional American and British style and filters it through an irreverent filter with heavy doses of contemporary streetwear thrown in. The watches seen here capture this nicely, with an imaginative use of color and bold design elements not commonly seen in wristwatches. The first of the three new watches is the SRPG49, which features a chess board ?Rally Bezel,? which Rowing Blazers tells us is a throwback to the Seiko archives. This watch (and the others) is available on a stainless steel bracelet, but also comes with a brightly colored strap to make it even more casual.
