SevenFriday changes gear with the new S3/01
SevenFriday has introduced its engine-inspired S3/01 that adds a sporty edge to its industrial, steampunk origins.

The idea of stripping a car down to its industrial essentials is the inspiration behind SevenFriday?s latest model in its new S-Series.
The S3/01 draws on the brand?s broader engineering themes with a design that ?lifts the hood? revealing a multi-layered ?interface? built and mounted inside the case. If the previously launched S1/01 is the sleek daytime vehicle of the S-Series family, then the S3/01 is the evening sports car with tinted windows and a leather interior.
Its chunky 47mm x 51mm stainless steel case has a sandblasted black PVD finish, complemented with a polished outer and sandblasted black inner bezel. The theme follows through onto a multi-layered gun metal dial, with black printed minute track markings and Super-LumiNova indices.
The automotive inspirations kick-in on the finer details, such as the matte red hour hand and the rhodium minute hand. Both are compacted, perhaps to look like the hands on a typical dashboard speedometer, and layered atop a rhodium 60-second ?brake disc? on the lower right dial.
Beneath these skeletonised layers is an open balance wheel powered by a Miyota 82S5 movement, with a 40 hour power reserve. The entire chassis of the SevenFriday S3/01 is surrounded by a secondary EPDM rubber case, with a design that mimics blackened tire marks on a race track. The overall aesthetic is finished with...
