Showing at WatchTime Live: Reservoir Supercharged Sport Red Zone II
WatchTime Live is less than two weeks away, and in anticipation of the upcoming online event, we?re taking a look at some of the featured watches from our participating brands. Today, we?re focusing in on the new Supercharged Sport Red Zone II from Reservoir, a new sports watch inspired by vintage cars and dashboard instruments. Like all models within the Supercharged collection, the Sport Red Zone II features retrograde minutes, jumping hours, and a power-reserve indicator, together offering a fascinating, racing-inspired design with a unique timekeeping style.
The watch’s 43-mm polished and brushed steel case has large, sharp lugs, and a prominent smooth bezel. A nonreflective sapphire crystal protects the matte black dial, whose aforementioned white retrograde minute counter curves around the upper two-thirds of its face. This aspect of the dial takes its inspiration from RPM dashboard counters, complete with a 0-to-60 Arabic numeral scale. Between the 50- and 60-minute mark is the ?Red Zone? indicator ? marking the critical 10 minutes before the next hour and visually recalling the maximum RPM in an automobile; as the red-tipped minute hand reaches the 60-minute mark, it snaps back to zero to begin recording the next hour.
