Showing at WatchTime New York 2017: Oak & Oscar Jackson Flyback Chronograph
Chicago-based American micro-brand Oak & Oscar has announced it will be among the 30 exhibiting watch brands at WatchTime New York, which kicks off tomorrow night at midtown Manhattan’s Gotham Hall. The company will feature its third model, the Jackson, at the event.
Named for Chicago’s Jackson Park ? the start and finish line of America’s first road race in 1895 ? the Jackson is a racing-influenced two-register chronograph with a flyback function and a Swiss-made, manual-winding movement, Eterna’s Caliber 3916. The movement features a cleverly designed “stacked hands” register design for tallying the elapsed minutes and hours, which allows both to be displayed on a single subdial. Visible through the watch’s sapphire caseback, the Eterna Caliber 3916 boasts a high level of haute horlogerie decoration and offers a power reserve of 60 hours.
The chronograph hours and minutes are displayed by two small, stacked hands on the subdial at 3 o’clock, while the subdial at 9 o’clock hosts the running seconds. The former subdial is designed for optimum legibility, with color-coordinated hands and markers for hours and minutes (white hand and white markers for hours, dark hand and dark numbers for minutes). The latter subdial has an orange crosshair motif that divides it into three sectors.
