Showing at WatchTime New York 2018: Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite
WatchTime New York, America?s largest luxury watch show, returns to the Big Apple in October. As we countdown to the big event, taking place at Manhattan?s Gotham Hall on October 26-27, we?ll be previewing many of the new watches that guests will discover there. Today we’re taking a look at the latest update to Glashütte Original‘s Senator line of timepieces.
Released at Baselworld this year, the Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite is a direct descendant of a 2015 timepiece that, at the time, we described as the highlight of the brand’s 2015 showcase thanks to a new manufacture movement that displayed 36 time zones. Here, we see that same movement and globe trotter-intended functionality on display with a cleaned-up dial layout and a new case material. Previously only available in white and rose gold, the new Senator Cosmopolite introduces a stainless steel shell to the mix, making the watch not only more feasible as a daily wearer and travel companion but also making it more accessible price-wise. The reformatted dial focuses mainly on the color scheme which maintains the same matte white lacquered dial but features additional dark blue notes with black details that cause the original watch’s strict sobriety to become easier on the eyes.
