Showing at WatchTime New York 2019: Arnold & Son Time Pyramid Tourbillon
WatchTime New York, America?s luxury watch event, is returning for its fifth consecutive year at midtown Manhattan?s Gotham Hall on October 25-26. With 37 participating watch brands set to showcase their latest and greatest timepieces, this year’s WTNY is shaping up to be the biggest yet. Among the watch maisons joining us this year is Arnold & Son, a brand that pays homage to the horological innovations of 18th-Century English watchmaker John Arnold. One of those tribute pieces, on display at the event, is the new Time Pyramid Tourbillon.

With a design based on John Arnold?s historical, distinctive regulator clocks displaying hours, minutes and seconds on different axes, the Time Pyramid Tourbillon is equipped with the skeletonized Caliber A&S8615, whose pyramid-shaped tourbillon appears to float between two sapphire crystals. The movement is built on three levels, with its tourbillon and two power reserve indicators superposed by a sapphire disk that indicates the hour and a rhodium-plated ring for the minutes. Manually wound by a crown positioned at 6 o?clock, its gear train runs in a linear arrangement connecting the two barrels at 6 o?clock to the tourbillon escapement at 12 o?clock, and its bridges are deigned in a manner that the balance wheel, the mainspring barrel, and the other wheels are all visible from the dial side.
