Showing at WatchTime New York 2022: Moritz Grossmann Universalzeit
For its seventh annual return to Midtown Manhattan?s Gotham Hall, WatchTime New York 2022 is bringing together over 30 participating watch brands and their most sought-after releases from the year. The event will take place from October 21-23, with three days dedicated to showcasing various timepieces and fostering fantastic conversations between guests and industry professionals.Â
Among those joining the professional crowd is Moritz Grossmann, a German watchmaker that will have its all-new UNIVERSALZEIT model on display. The model is inspired by the brand?s history, one rich in the tides of traveling that made adjusting for local time zones an absolute necessity. As such, the UNIVERSALZEIT is a piece that displays world time at a single glance.
The watch is substantial on the wrist with a diameter of 44.5 mm and a height of 13.78 mm. The case consists of three parts, all made of steel. Three steel crowns on the exterior of the case operate to wind the watch, set the time, and correct the hour hand when necessary.
To make the world time functionality supremely legible, the display is designed to look like a world map. The dial is made of solid silver with rhodium-plated, bevel time windows in 6 positions across the map. There are also hour-markers on the outer edge of the dial indicating the primary time zone. The background color of the dial is a rich blue hue while the countries are portrayed in blush.Â
