Sponsored: DWISS Celebrates 10 Years with Swiss-Made M3W Wandering Hours Automatic
DWISS is marking 10 years since its founding, and to celebrate its anniversary it is launching a Swiss-made automatic watch with a wandering hours display: the M3W.
The case’s design inspiration came from the previous model M3, which was produced in Switzerland and designed in the world?s first Watch Design Club, where 100 members came together to create a watch during 2020. The distinctive design of the M3 has already earned it two design awards, the ePDA and the Good Design Award, for a total of 13 design awards won by DWISS since its founding.
The difference between the new M3W and the previous M3 is that the anniversary-edition watch has a domed bezel and double domed sapphire crystal, along with its most important feature: a wandering hour module with three satellites disks over the skeleton dial that shows the modified Sellita SW-200 movement used in this collection.
The wandering hours concept was first created in the 17th century by the Campanus brothers. It consists of an arm with disks at the end that display the current hour and points to the minutes along an arc-shaped track. The system thus combines a digital display and an analog indication for an intuitive way of telling the time.
In recent years, some of the most prestigious watch brands have adapted this concept to produce incredible watches, and now DWISS has used it for a second time in its anniversary-edition timepieces.
