TAG Heuer Reveals New Family Of Non-Chronograph Carrera Watches
TAG Heuer revealed a new collection of Carrera watches this week, not of the chronograph variety, but rather of the modern advent of the three-hander type (or four-hander, including the Twin-Time). In total, 13 new references have been added to the collection, spanning from 29 to 41mm, each receiving an updated case and bracelet design to more closely align with the new Carrara Chronograph released earlier this year. Among the new watches are both 39 and 41mm Caliber 5 options, as well as a new Twin-Twin with 24 hour hand equipped Caliber 7. They might not be chronographs, but as TAG Heuer points out, Carrera isn?t just Spanish for race, but also for career or profession, which is perhaps a more appropriate setting for these watches.
The 41mm options will be offered with a day and date complication in-line at 3 o?clock on the dial, presented in a pair of framed apertures. That polished frame matches the dial furniture, in either silver or gold depending on the chosen colorway. This day and date configuration feels a bit old-school to my eye, heightened by their framing. The day and date wheels are either white or black, meaning they match the dial color save for the blue dial, which gets the white pairing. A light silver dial joins two black dial options, one of which gets gold hands and hour markers (and day/date frame). The black dial features a ring texture emanating from its center.
The new Twin-Time is also offered in the 41mm case size, and comes exclusivel...
