TAG Heuer Tees Off With Third-Generation Connected Golf Edition Watch
As the world begins to slowly emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, reopening golf courses beckon for many, offering a socially distanced day of exercise and some much-needed outdoor time. And this week, TAG Heuer has launched the ideal wristwatch for a day on the links, the third-generation model in its Connected Golf series, chock-full of new features.
Following up the third-generation Connected model that launched back in March 2020, the new Golf Edition packs all that watch’s functionalities plus an array of golf-specific capabilities powered by TAG Heuer’s own Golf app. Designed in house, the app offers access to easy-to-read 3D course mapping, distances to greens and hazards, shot tracking, scorecards for up to four players, updated stats, and the new “Driving Zone” feature, which shows players the best zones to target based on previous rounds. These are in addition to the TAG Heuer Sport App, which supports other activities such as running, cycling, and fitness, plus the range of capabilities from the Wear OS by Google ecosystem.
The watch’s 45-mm blackened titanium case features a black ceramic bezel with a scale of 18 engraved graduations corresponding to each hole from a round of golf. The two green lacquer-accented pushers that flank the crown can be used within the Golf app to record shots and distances, in addition to other uses within other apps.
