TAG Heuer?s Iconic Carrera Collection Goes Carbon
Avant-garde watchmaking meets innovative material: TAG Heuer introduces three new Carrera timepieces all crafted in carbon.
These three limited-edition models ? each with their own daring personality ? are available as of now. The TAG Heuer Carrera line has long been admired ? not only for its reputation and ties to the world of motor racing, but also for the state-of-the-art timepieces that comprise this legendary collection. TAG Heuer now presents three new models ? one of which is fitted with a tourbillon mechanism ? and all three are made from carbon, a rare, lightweight material.
Fitted with an in-house Calibre Heuer 02T movement, this 45 mm tourbillon gets its name ? Phantom ? from the deep black colour of the mechanical components at its heart. The Calibre Heuer 02T has been certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), meaning that the timepiece has passed rigorous testing conducted by the Swiss institute responsible for certifying the precision of mechanical watches. Black gold-plated and black PVD-covered parts in addition to the black opaline dial give this timepiece a dark and daring appearance that suits every style. The titanium case is coated in black PVD and the fixed bezel is made of carbon, as are the lugs. A visually darker version of the manufacture movement that enhances the overall ?Phantom? look of the timepiece can be seen through the transparent sapphire caseback.
