This year, Junghans has introduced a limited edition chronograph model inspired by the centennial anniversary of the brand?s nine-story factory in Schramberg, Germany. All the way back in 1918, Junghans ranked as one of the most prolific watchmakers in the world. As a result, the quaint Schramberg valley that the young marque called home quickly grew cramped as it successfully expanded its operations. Rather than building extensions or buying new property, Junghans decided to build upwards, where each watchmaker could benefit from direct sunlight. The top floor, where it was the calmest, was reserved for the delicate art of chronometer production.

In honor of this momentous occasion in the brand?s history, Junghans has released a series of limited edition timepieces. The Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau in 18k rose gold is limited to 100 pieces, while the stainless steel model is limited to 1,000. Both models incorporate elements of the Schramberg factory into their design: the minute track of the dial reflects the meandering design of the wall decorations in the terrace building, while the dark green of the wall tiles in the stairways can be found in the alligator leather strap.
