Watchmaker Richard Mille has collaborated with Airbus Corporate Jets once again to create a new travel watch called the RM 62-01 Tourbillon Vibrating Alarm ACJ, inspired by and adapted to exclusive journeys on an Airbus corporate jet. Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) is a subsidiary of Airbus that deals with bespoke private aircrafts. The new timepiece follows in the same footsteps of the 2016 RM 50-02 that was spawned out of the collaboration between the two brands. Richard Mille describes the RM 62-01 most complicated Richard Mille made to date, with 816 components, 2 barrels, 7 hands, 11 displays and a tourbillon cage. The watch has a titanium and carbon TPT® case that measures 42.00 x 49.94 x 16.90 mm and carries many design elements inspired by business jets. The aesthetics mirrors the beauty of dark wood panelling from a bespoke cabin interior designed by Sylvain Mariat, Head of ACJ Creative Design. The sapphire glass is shaped like an airplane window while the pushers evoke the profile of pylons connecting the engine and wing. The extra-wide diameter titanium crown, on the other hand, recalls a jet turbine.
Powering the watch is the Caliber RM62-01, a manual winding movement with its baseplate and bridges in grade 5 titanium that is black PVD treated.
