The DOXA Sub 200 Gets All-White Makeover in Whitepearl
Bright, colorful divers have been all the rage heading into this summer, and DOXA has been ahead of the curve on that front with their Sub 300 range and Sub 200 range receiving no less than 6 colorways. The Sub 200 family welcomes a new look this week in the Whitepearl, an all-white take on their entry level dive watch.Â
We?ve talked a lot about the DOXA Sub 200 around here, as it brings the Doxa heritage we know and love into a more traditional case design. It also happens to match up nicely against watches like the Seiko SPB14X series of divers thanks to the sub $1k price tag. The Whitepearl retains all the charm of the original 6 colors, and with the help of black accents might even be the most legible of the bunch.
The 316l steel case remains 42mm in diameter and 14mm in thickness granting 200 meters of depth resistance. Power is provided by the trusty ETA 2824-2, a movement that?s becoming a bit of a novelty in this price range but a welcome sight nonetheless. Since the COMCO ruling last year, ETA has been free of restrictions and obligations in their movement deliveries to third parties, and Sellita has effectively filled that gap.Â
The all-white aesthetic may typically induce an eye roll from you, but Doxa has designed the Whitepearl in a practical manner with black hands and hour markers that look the business here, and I dare say if they paired this with a black bezel insert it?d be the hit of the lot.
