Along with all the blue novelties Montblanc has introduced for this year, the brand has also added a new vintage-inspired wristwatch to its 1858 collection with design elements reminiscent of the original Minerva timepieces from the 1920s and 1930s. Called the 1858 Automatic 24H, the highlight of the adventurer?s watch is its dial with a single hand for displaying the time. As the name suggests, the timepiece indicates the time on a 24-hour scale and gets only one red-colored hand coated in SuperLumiNova. And just in case if the dial looks like a compass to you with its single hand, it?s no coincidence. The timepiece can be used both as a timekeeper and as a compass.

The adventure-inspired sports watch features a brushed steel case measuring 42mm x 11.2mm. The bezel and the crown are made of bronze alloy, which not only gives the watch a vintage feel but also a rugged look. The black dial features a map of the northern hemisphere along with the 24 meridian lines. The Arabic numerals point from 2 to 24, with 12 at the top of the dial and 24 at the bottom. With a single hand, the timepiece doesn?t tell time with absolute precision but rather gives a general idea of time ? something which isn?t a big compromise considering this is an adventure watch.
