Jacob & Co. has released its newest limited edition timepiece spawned out of its collaboration with French hypercar manufacturer Bugatti. The watch pays homage to Jean Bugatti, the eldest son of the company?s founder Ettore Bugatti, and some of the greatest automotive creations penned by him. Born in 1909, Jean Bugatti got interested in his father’s business at a very young age and became an automotive designer and test engineer for Bugatti. However, the Bugatti scion tragically lost his life at the age of 30 while testing the Type 57 tank-bodied racer. The Jacob & Co. Jean Bugatti timepiece celebrates the gifted designer?s contributions to the automotive industry along with his out-of-the-box approach towards car design.

The Manhattan-based boutique watch brand claims the new Jean Bugatti timepiece is the most complex horological creation to come in recent years. Unlike the previous Bugatti watches by Jacob & Co., the Jean Bugatti timepiece features a more classical design with elegant retro-inspired styling. Instead of a tonneau-shaped case, the timepiece features a polished round case that measures 46mm and has a round bezel, short and elaborate lugs, a traditional architecture. However, don?t make the mistake of thinking anything about the watch is regular, which is clearly evident by having look at its dial.
