The new Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 comes with a larger case, a new movement, and colored lacquered dials

In the slew of announcements of new models and updates by Rolex, the new Submariner wasn?t the only model with a 41mm case to be revealed. The Swiss watchmaker has come up with a new Oyster Perpetual 41 (aka OP 41) for 2020 which replaces the 39mm version, and joins the 36mm, 34mm, 31mm, and 26mm options in the already fairly large collection. By launching the larger, 41mm case as a replacement for the 39mm variant, Rolex has made a surprising move. The Oyster Perpetual 39mm has been a popular model since its launch in 2015 and the size was considered perfect by many. However, the 41mm case is apparently the new standard for men?s Rolex.

The new OP 41 has been released in several different dial versions at launch, all in stainless steel. The first one has a familiar combination of “bright black” sunray dial with white-gold hour markers and hands. The second one, on the other hand, has a completely new dial configuration for Rolex that combines a silver sunray finish dial with yellow-gold hour markers and hands. In addition to that, Rolex has released bright and vivid colored lacquered dials that pay tribute to the Stella dial of vintage models. These include solid yellow, turquoise, and coral red, along with deep metallic ?bright blue,? and forest green dial color options. The new OP 41 is powered by Rolex?s new in-house Caliber 3230 that can also be found in the new Submariner ?No Date? watch. The watch is paired with a classic 3-link Oyster bracelet wit...
