I’m a weird one in that I’m not a huge fan of chronographs (mostly due to their size and cost of servicing) and I don’t travel enough to justify a GMT. I also don’t mind quartz, and actually prefer it for certain applications – such as tool watches where durability is a bonus and dress watches where the watch may sit for a while between uses. The hand wound Farer is the enthusiast’s choice, but it’s still versatile in style and very thin and comfortable to wear. I also like that this collection hits a variety of watch styles and origins – a German tool watch, a dressy Japanese watch, and an all purpose Swiss watch with British styling. With a bit more of a budget, I’d go for a Sinn EZM3 to add an automatic to the quartz and hand wound movements.
Sinn EZM2 Hydro – ~$1,500

The Sinn EZMs are all comfortable, durable, and capable, but the EZM2 takes all that and adds the extra cool factor of an oil filled case. That gives you frankly absurd depth rating and an extreme field of view. Very cool, very practical, so...
