Last year UK-based luxury watchmaker Bremont came up with limited edition timepiece as an homage to the legendary 1963 Jaguar Lightweight E-Type. The brand has created a new special edition that pays tribute to another British icon ? the Concorde. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary supersonic passenger jet, Bremont partnered with British Airways to create the limited edition, aptly named the ?Supersonic.? It is the eighth historical limited edition timepiece in the lineup, and in fact incorporates aluminum in its case taken from parts out of the aircraft that were donated to Bremont specially for this occasion. The parts are from the G-BOAB Concorde (known as Alpha Bravo), which was the third Concorde aircraft to join the celebrated British Airways fleet.
The case of the Bremont Supersonic measures 43 mm in diameter and 14.56 mm thick and is constructed in the watchmaker?s modular ?Trip-Tick? style. The caseback features a decorated inner ring, underneath the sapphire glass, that is machined from aluminum taken from the Concorde and is etched with vital stats from the aircraft: number and registration, top speed, years of active service, and number of supersonic flights. The sunburst white dial on the other hand represents Concorde?s specially developed highly reflective paint.
