Treasures in Gold: Omega Expands De Ville Trésor Collection with Duo of Gold Watches
As part of its 2021 releases unveiled this past week, Swiss watchmaker Omega has expanded its formal-focused De Ville Trésor collection with two new gold models. The De Ville Trésor Power Reserve and Small Seconds are built upon the classic 40-mm design of the series, the look of which we last saw updated as part of a limited-edition, charitable release last December. Like all other watches in the Trésor collection (the name comes from the French word for “treasure”), these latest models continue a legacy, and a vintage look, first established in 1949.
De Ville Trésor Power Reserve
Leading the duo is the De Ville Trésor Power Reserve, a yellow-gold watch featuring (as its name indicates) a power-reserve indicator on the dial. The 18k yellow-gold case is 40 mm in diameter and 10.07 mm thick, with polished finishing throughout, shortened lugs, and a tight-fitting, signed crown.
The vintage-influenced, box-shaped sapphire crystal covers a textured, silvery dial, slightly domed and hosting a relatively simple configuration. Like the case, each of the applied hour markers are in 18k yellow gold, as are the stick-style hands for the two subdials and the central hour and minute hands. Both subdials are slightly indented and engine-turned, with the upper register being used to track the power reserve and the bottom, to count the running seconds.
