Tudor debuts the Heritage Black Bay Bronze Blue, a special edition with Bucherer
Try saying it three times fast: “Black Bay Bronze Blue”. But Tudor’s new Heritage Black Bay is another hit regardless
Tudor has launched a rather special Heritage Black Bay Bronze Blue with Bucherer, the Swiss watch and jewellery retailer.
Sure, it?s a bit of a mouthful, but behind the long-winded name is a very snappy watch.
Tudor launched the 43mm Heritage Black Bay Bronze in 2016, in a brushed aluminium and bronze alloy case. It contained the in-house, COSC-certified Tudor MT5601 with a 70-hour power reserve. It has been filling out the Heritage Black Bay range to great effect over the last few years – adding a chronograph this year. For this edition, the chocolate shade used on the dial and bezel disc has been swapped out in favour of a deep navy blue.
Although we?ve seen plenty of blue watches – and nearly as many bronze ones – in the past couple of years, this one feels pretty special. The depth of the blue with that warm bronze is one thing – it will undoubtedly look awesome after a couple of years of patinating. It’s also special simply because Tudor doesn’t normally produce special editions.
The cream snowflake hands (taken from Tudor watches used by the French National Navy in the 1970s) and indices also work well with the new colour scheme. It gives the watch even more of a nautical feel than the original He...
