Vacheron Constantin & WatchTime Pop the Champagne At NYC Flagship Opening Event
Last week, Vacheron Constantin welcomed WatchTime Magazine and its readers to one the first viewings at its new New York City flagship boutique. The event was hosted by Vacheron Constantin President of the Americas Alexander Schmiedt, and included a cocktail hour followed by a presentation and discussion between Schmiedt and WatchTime?s Senior Editor, Mark Bernardo.
The new space, as became quickly apparent, was much more than a simple retail store, instead serving more as the most comprehensive immersion into the brand that’s offered outside of its manufacture in Geneva. ?I don?t like the word ?boutique,? Schmiedt posited. ?Because this space is so much more than that.? Among its attractions, the flagship contains a number of immersive, rotating exhibitions like the one dedicated to the American 1921 pièce unique modeled after the 1921 original (below), in addition to a VIP lounge, an in-house watchmaker, a massive digital archive, and, naturally, plenty of watches on display for perusing and purchasing.
Located just two blocks south of Central Park, the new Vacheron Constantin Flagship spans more than 4,500 square feet and covers two floors, the entire space hosting striking design inspired by both modern luxury and 19th-century architecture, acting as a reflection of both Vacheron Constantin itself and classic New York City aesthetics.
