WatchTime L.A. Panel Preview: Meet the Hollywood Watch Connoisseurs
WatchTime Los Angeles, the West Coast’s biggest watch collectors’ event, kicks off tonight and continues into tomorrow, with 27 exhibiting watch brands and a number of entertaining and informative panel discussions. For our inaugural event in the world’s entertainment capital, we have gathered a group of prominent L.A.-based aficionados to discuss the intersection of watch collecting with TV, movies, and celebrity culture. Here’s an introduction to our panelists.
Many of us grew up alongside Fred Savage, who portrayed young Kevin Arnold on the 1990s series The Wonder Years. Since then, Fred has gone on to forge an eclectic career as an actor, director, and producer. He is the youngest person ever to be nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy for lead actor, at 13, and has since been nominated for multiple Golden Globe Awards for acting and directing. As an actor, he has starred in series such as The Grinder, Working, and Friends From College; directed episodes of 2 Broke Girls, The Goldbergs, and Modern Family; and his next project is a high-concept spoof of after-show shows called “What Just Happened"” Fred began his watch collecting career in his 20s, with a vintage Illinois wristwatch, and has gone on to amass a large and varied collection of vintage and modern pieces that includes Rolex, Tudor, Bell & Ross, and a very special Breitling Navitimer that he bought on the occasion of receiving a pilot’s license.
