Swiss watchmaker Zenith has partnered with Land Rover to create a limited edition version of the Defy 21 watch to celebrate the return of the Defender. The legendary rugged SUV made a comeback for 2020 after being discontinued in 2016. This is not the first time the two brands have come together to launch a special edition watch; back in 2016, the collaboration spawned the El Primero Range Rover Special Edition. Coming back to the new Zenith Defy 21 Land Rover Edition, the limited edition wears an understated, sober look that matches the tough yet classy appeal of the Land Rover Defender. The timepiece comes in a 44mm-wide brushed gray ceramic case that is complemented by a match grey dial.

What?s interesting is that Zenith went with a closed dial for the limited edition, which gives it a different appeal as compared to the skeleton dial examples of the Defy 21. The gray theme of the watch is beautifully contrasted by the subtle use of orange. The watch has a linear power reserve display right below the brand?s logo on the dial. The chronograph operates at 50 Hz can run for 50 minutes, while the El Primero 9004 movement offers a power reserve of 50 hours. The limited-edition is priced at $14,300 and only 250 examples will be available for sale around the world. (Via – Hodinkee)
